Visiting the Waterloo Brocante: One of Europe’s famous antique flea market in Belgium
One of the things we loved to do on our road trips through Europe was to find unique souvenirs at some of Europe’s antique markets!
There are a few markets worth visiting in Belgium, but the Waterloo Brocante was one of the most famous ones in Europe, and the one highly recommended by the locals.

The Waterloo flea market is a weekly flea market located near the infamous battlefield where French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte met its fate in 1815.
Once a week, vendors and antique dealers gather on the parking of the Carrefour supermarket in Waterloo, where they meet thousands of buyers, some of which drive as far as from the Netherlands to attend this event.
The Waterloo flea market offers a little bit of everything from antiques to retro items, and some kooky adornments, theres a treasure waiting to be found here!
We had an amazing time rummaging through all the cool antiques and wished we could purchase some of the bigger items!
We are not experts on antiquities, but some of the items sold here are quite incredible! My husband loves to collect War memorabilia and hit the jackpot with some amazing artillery shells from World Wars one and two.
I however, found some unique Dutch antiques that were absolutely amazing! Our little one scored with some ceramic dolls which is now one of her favorite toys to play with.
We had so much fun hunting for some unique souvenirs at the Waterloo Flea market. Make sure to arrive early in the morning for some of the best selections and to ensure you have parking.
