Best Outdoor Holiday Ice Skating Rinks in the DC Area
There’s nothing like ice skating during the holidays to get you in the Christmas mood, and if you live in the DC area, there are so many outdoor skating rinks to choose from.
Since we live in one of the best places for the holidays, I list some of the best outdoor holiday ice skating rinks in the DC area so you can add them to your must-do list this Christmas in Washington DC.

Washington DC Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks
NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART SCULPTURE GARDENS ICE RINK
The Ice Rink at the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden is one of the most popular outdoor holiday skating rinks in the DC area and one of our favorites as well!
You will definitely get into the holiday spirit as you listen to some holiday music while gliding along the ice amongst the giant art sculptures!
It’s definitely a bucket list activity to add to your Washington DC itinerary during the holidays.

ENCHANT CHRISTMAS

WASHINGTON HARBOUR ICE RINK
Ice skating at the Washington Harbour Ice Rink along the Georgetown Waterfront. This is the largest ice rink in the city and offers skate rentals, lessons, and open skating in 90-minute increments.

DC WHARF ICE RINK
Another one of our favorite outdoor holiday skating rinks in the DC area is the Wharf Ice Rink. Lace up your skates and glide along the Potomac River and get into the holiday spirit while listening to some holiday tunes.
The Rink also has a snack shop, including some hot chocolate to warm you up. The Wharf Fire pit is also nearby so you can roast smore’s while you take a short break from the ice to warm up. There are also some fun holiday themed insta-worthy igloos nearby to keep warm as well.
Your admissions ticket is valid for the entire day so you can leave and return the same day, but you would be required to re-rent skates for $8 each time you return.

Outdoor Skating Rinks in Northern Virginia
WINTER VILLAGE AT CAMERON RUN ICE RINK
Experience a winter wonderland at Cameron Run with lots of fun photo-ops, a holiday lights display, ice skating, and more! Skate session includes a one-hour skate block and skate rentals.
Skate sizes are available from Toddler 11- Men 13. Children under the age of seven must be accompanied by a guardian with a paid skate ticket at all times on the ice.

Largest outdoor skating rink in Northern Virginia. The Plaza has an outdoor dual-sided stone fireplace and many shops, restaurants, and a coffee shop.

Outdoor Skating Rinks in Maryland
GAYLORD NATIONAL HARBOR ICE RINK
Another fun outdoor holiday ice skating experience to add to your Christmas must-do list is the Gaylord National Harbor Ice RInk.
This ice skating experience is just one of the many holiday lineups at the Resort which also includes ICE! featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Ice Skating tickets are valid all day and can be redeemed anytime during operating hours for unlimited rides for date on ticket.
Children 11 and under require a paid adult admission to attend with them. Skate sizes range from 9 toddler to 13 adult. You can bring your own skates, but still must pay the full admission.
