A day at Epcot and the International Flower and Garden Festival

Epcot is one of our favorite parks at Disneyworld. You can feel like you’ve traveled around the world without ever leaving.

Epcot is often referred to as a “permanent world’s fair”, and that’s exactly what a visit to Epcot feels like with its World showcase.

In the spring, the International Flower Garden Festival opens at Epcot and its quite impressive. On the blog I will share how to spend a day at Epcot and the International Flower and Garden Festival.

How to spend the day at Epcot

Epcot is divided into two sections: Future World, made up of eight pavilions, and World Showcase, themed to 11 world nations. During our visit to Epcot, we got to experience the many countries showcased and it was quite incredible!

Every detail was exquisite and every person working in the specific countries were from the region, it was so awesome! It really felt like you went on vacation without ever leaving.

Top things to do at Epcot

One of the best things to do at Epcot is a stroll through the World showcase. It really is just so incredible walking through here. The details are so impressive, you really feel like you are visiting each country at Epcot.

Epcot also has a few rides that are quite interesting and fun. One of our favorites, and is worth reserving fast passes for is the Frozen ever after ride. There are also many character meet and greets at Epcot.

We visited during the Extra magic hours and got to meet most of the characters in the park without waiting in long lines. We also went on a few rides without lines as well. Take advantage of the extra magic hours when staying at a Disney Resort, it’s well worth it!

Explore the World showcase at Epcot

Epcot’s World Showcase is one of our favorite part about this Disney park. There are eleven countries represented, and each country made you feel like you were really there.

The best part about being at Epcot’s world showcase is the food. You can really taste your way through all the countries here, with some authentic dishes.

One of our faves was the gelato in the Italy showcase, and the asian cuisine at both the China and Japan showcase.

At the German showcase, you can feel like you’re really in Germany and sample their amazing food and beer. So many countries to explore at Epcot, and you never had to leave the country!

Epcot comes to life with all the beautiful and colorful garden displays. Some of the highlights of Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival are the breathtaking gardens, and Disney themed topiaries.

As you make your way through the park, you will come across all the Disney themed topiaries which are so amazing. Some of our favorites were the Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, and Winnie the Pooh Topiaries.

Butterfly Garden and play area

One of the highlights of the International Flower and Garden festival is the butterfly garden. Our little one enjoyed learning more about butterflies and the different stages of formation. You can even watch butterflies transform before your eyes, which was so amazing!

The Butterfly gardens is located by the entrance to Epcot and is worth the visit. There is also a cool play area for the kiddos located just at the entrance to the Epcot.

It’s a great place for the kids to have fun, complete with an awesome play area. You can even lounge in one of the chairs, while you hideaway from the sun under one of the umbrellas.
